Peace for PDA families
This podcast is wonderful for explaining the neuroscience of PDA and the underlying causes of the behaviors commonly seen in PDA individuals. I am a pediatric nurse practitioner and parent of a PDA child and it has taken me years to understand the ‘why’ of the behaviors which I can now see are all part of a heightened threat response. I have read EVERYTHING on PDA but here is the first place I really began to hear about the threat response coming from a perceived loss of autonomy or equality. Understanding this is KEY as it explains so many confusing behaviors that from the outside seem so dramatic. The more we can learn about PDA and help other children and families, the better life can be for everyone involved. Thank you so much!!
