Every year, I pour over the auction draft episodes popular fantasy football podcasts release (1 per year, typically, hitting on the same high-level points), but I was searching for more detail. The Auction Brief delivers just that.
What I like most about this podcast isn’t that we get Drew’s player takes, though there is some of that. I like that he spends a great deal of time talking about approach, thought process, and strategy. Every auction draft is different - even with the same managers - and learning to think is probably more important than how you feel about any given player. Pressure and precision - the sit down bonus (it’s a real thing, I’ve been testing it in mocks) - nomination strategies - inflection points … valuable concepts that I’ve pulled from listening.
This podcast will remain in my regular rotation.”
