Turner will oversee housing policies impacting low- and moderate-income families, homeownership access, and housing discrimination cases. Turner previously served as the executive director of the White House Opportunity and Revitalization Council, where he worked on the Opportunity Zones programs, which reportedly helped to increase gentrification. Housing affordability, a top voter concern, looms large as rents have surged over 30% since 2019, according to Zillow.
