Sometimes Profound, Mostly Surface Level
I love the idea of a podcast episode for each tarot card, but I feel Jaclyn’s interpretations are quite shallow. Also, I respect anyone with a platform who speaks out about causes that matter to them, but the way Jaclyn incorporates her activism is also shallow. The Temperance card is one of my favorites and has such a beautiful meaning behind it that everyone interprets differently, but instead of giving real examples of advice she’d give in a reading she makes a tongue in cheek joke about privilege and mask mandates. I understand that it’s a joke, but this is just one example of the podcast not quite hitting the mark and the host relying too heavily on performative activism to garner a following.
