“I knew I wanted to do baby-led weaning (BLW) with my son (currently 5mo) even before he was born. I loved the concept and was reassured by all the families out there sharing their real life experiences. Before finding Katie’s instagram and, subsequently, her podcast I’d been doing a decent job of piecing the necessary information about BLW together from all the sources I could find. However, as with any labor of love I was having trouble, especially when it came to forming a real plan of action. I knew a lot of the why’s, some of the how’s, but not enough of the what’s. Looking back, I can easily see myself falling into the run of feeding him the same ten foods on rotation.
Fast-forward to now and I have a plan for 100 foods by the time he’s a year old. I know what I’ll be feeding him, how I’ll give it to him to self-feed, and why. Katie provides literally everything you need in a straightforward yet entertaining package. She regularly references the science behind her recommendations, which I particularly enjoy because so much of what you find in the BLW community is opinion based.
If you are a mom, dad or other caregiver interested in the BLW approach to transitioning to eating solids...enjoying browsing through the available resources, but this podcast along with her free workshop is all you really need. Have fun!”
