Sex Work Doesn’t Have to be Shameful
I like the hosts collection of literature and how she interprets it and applies it to modern issues. She has a good understanding of how Western philosophies and medical practices can be dismissive and ultimately more harmful and helpful. She offers an alternative perspective that is valuable. With that said, I’m about sick of hearing her associate the “darkest times of her life” with sex work and putting medication down altogether. Some people legitimately need medication and many of us have found empowerment and freedom through sex work. It’s a highly stigmatized and personal choice, I wish she’d stop generalizing it. This is beginning to come off as fodder for the white woman seeking enlightenment so they have something to talk to their green haired friends about over brunch. Encroaching on SWERF territory.
