10. The Salary Cap Spike and the Summer of 2016
Description
A look back at the wild summer of 2016, when a cap spike increased the salary cap from $70 million in 2015-16 to $94 million in 2016-17. The Golden State Warriors were able to sign Kevin Durant and the rest of the league were able to sign mediocre players to debilitatingly large long-term contracts. This episode covers some background info on why the cap rose so much as quickly as it did and then breaks down the 21 worst contracts doled out that summer.
