“Background Briefing serves as one of the few remaining ties my media habits have to the center-left. Ian is an Obama/Democratic Party type and suffers a bit from “wishing what was that really wasn’t-itis.”
The show format is great and I’m always happier to hear journalists over “advocates opinions” or formerly problematic politicians/authorities attempting to rehab their image(s) but I do respect the work Ian does and his seemingly honest perspective.
MY ONLY COMPLAINT: Please, someone tell them Ian sounds like he has a mouth full of peanut butter and that he constantly smacks/masticates. Turn down the high end of the EQ (5k-8kHrz) and save us all from going insane!!!”
