“Have you ever seen that guy who’s quick and witty and has comebacks for days? How about that guy who four hours after the conversation says to himself, “I should have said this in that moment!”? The first guys is Derek and second is Carl in this hilarious back and forth banter about backpacking.
Two weekend warrior and summer vacation backpackers who discuss the trends, challenges, and the fun times we all can relate to when out on the trail.
It’s sometimes painful how much work Carl will put into an insult or prank aimed at Derek but it just makes you love him that much more. Derek couldn’t be easier going either...never flustered.
Listed to every available episode for Apple. Been great binging and getting to know these guys since I started listening to the podcast. Definitely worth the listen if you’re into backpacking or wish you were into backpacking. Love the gear talk between these two as well. Definitely fans of some stuff (Jetboils and Fanny packs) and haters of others (Buffs, tent footprints, old school Nalgene bottles and missing sleeping pads). Sure to make you laugh.
