Humanising the victims
Finally, we get to learn more about the identity of these women, who they were and details about their lives. I’m not surprised at all by the attitudes still perpetuated by men - “The Ripperologists”. Misogyny and violence against women is still rife today as it was back then. As society claims to progress, unfortunately men killing women is a tale as old as time. With this podcast the victims reclaim the narrative and deeper insights are revealed.

I am obsessed with this podcast. The story telling and depth for these women’s lives and experiences is so well crafted and considered, I was absolutely heartbroken to find it’s only up to episode 5. I cannot wait for the rest of the episodes.

Hallie Rubenhold’s book about the women murdered by Jack the Ripper was a revelation of historical research. It’s great to hear her talk about the women again in this podcast.
