Great writing + tension-filled adventure
Master storyteller Jake Brennan milks the yarns he spins for every bit of torrid drama there is. The show is more than just a guilty slice of People magazine-style cheese. Jake can’t afford that. But even if he could, why tell the *real* story when there is so much between the lines? Just 2 questions: given the Amazon connection, why can’t they use snippets of songs and movies? And why not release all episodes on regular channels? This show could be pulling in way more for Amazon if it was more accessible. Not that I’m complaining. I’d just prefer to listen to both parts of an episode on my commute, not have to ask Alexa to play the ones I can’t download to my pod.

At first I wasn’t sure what it was about his delivery that I didn’t like. Then I realized that the combination of over dramatization added to the fact that his voice is just annoying made this podcast unlistenable.

Crime & sports is the only podcast I’ll ever listen to like this. Sorry no way you can compare

Too much flowery language and the narrator’s tempo is all over the place which makes for very little drama. Dude knows how to talk for sure but isn’t very good at telling a compelling story.
