“Bald Move Prestige and Bald Move Pulp are bringing thoughtful, sincere and funny discussions to movies old and new (and shows mostly new). A-Ron brings vulnerability and personal experience to his reviews in a way that adds and never subtracts. Jim is unflappable and takes a more “I’m not personally invested in any of this but I can tell good from bad and will call it as I see it.” This is most interesting when they talk about their own lives. For example, when they share about being raised as Jehovah’s Witnesses and the life-changing consequences of leaving, A-Ron can share for minutes at a time about how painful the whole experience was and how he’s still processing it; Jim will respond with “yeah, that sucked but I never believed any of it and it’s over so whatever.” They play off each other wonderfully and have helped to re-define masculinity for me at a time when the only options seem like either offended snowflake or Andrew Tate. I hope they’re able to keep this going as long as they’d like.”
