“Maybe it’s because it’s the first episode or that their guest is a good friend, I felt like I was listening to a group of friends at the table next to mine talk at a bar. They mentioned famous friends that I didn’t know and talked about personal stories that are probably way funnier in context but you “kinda had to be there.” If I was a long time listener I may be more curious about their private lives but I don’t know them yet so I’m just here for the news stories. I think it’s worth remembering that most of your listener base are not comedians by trade.”
