“I served in the US Army from 1997-2018 (some of which as a Paratrooper in the 173rd) and deployed to Iraq and Afghanistan. This series served as a great inspiration for many an American Soldier that went to war after 9/11. Whole units would watch it together prior to deployment, as a Drill Sergeant we would let our cycles watch the series over their weeks of training; individuals and small groups within platoons would watch before hand during deployments (as well as the Pacific). I have the utmost respect for the men that served with E 1/506 during WWII and I hope they knew, or know for those who may be remaining, what an inspiration they provided.”
