“Band of Brothers is the paradigm of human drama displayed on film. War, because of it’s inherent nature of conflict, it’s adrenaline, strategy and it’s shifting narrative is the ideal backdrop. WW2 is the best war to capture human drama on film because it is close enough in time and relatable to to the masses in its clarity of differentiation between good and evil. The men of Easy Company seem to have been ordained for this role. Hanks, Spielberg and the entire staff accept their roles in history, to display history, with enough determination and humility that they succeed in truly honoring humanity. They do so through the kaleidoscope of honoring the men of Easy Company but that is not their ultimate goal, a goal they do accomplish.”
