Expected More - Hope It Gets Better
As a crazy fan of Band Of Brothers, I was hoping for better than a way too clever heavily accented soccer commentator with barely adequate interview skills. Given Jimmy Fallon’s engagement and appearance in this series, he would have been a better choice. I am sure there are some professional interviewers (like an Anderson Cooper or similar personality) who would have jumped at this opportunity. This production is so rich with great stories and background that one podcast per episode seems so light. If the producers of this podcast were attempting to follow the formula of “West Wing Weekly,” they missed what made that podcast brilliant. That secret sauce was the constancy of the hosts (with one being involved in the show as talent), a skilled interviewer who knew how to set up the storytelling of the guests and get out of the way, and the will to go deep into the subject matter. Each of these BOB episodes were films in their own right. One could easily do four podcasts per episode with a variety of contributors. Please HBO, be willing to dig deeper into the richness of this production and do more with it. I hope that this one episode is not indicative of what is to come. This series deserves so much more…

Best way to enjoy is to listen to each episode’s podcast and then rewatch the episode on HBO Max, helps you to...Read full review »
