Growing up in a wave rich area near Durban, Ricky quickly caught the eye of the local and national surf community with his slick style and incredible tube riding prowess. he progressed through the ranks into WSL qualification at an early age, competing on the elite WCT and partnering up with icons of the sport, including Mick Fanning. Pretty quickly, Ricky realised the competitive side of surfing wasn't for him. He was more interested in living his best life as a human and bringing a more philosophical side to his endevours.
