Lack of nuance and context
Failed to include context and nuance that distinguished the terrorist organization of Hamas from Palestinian civilians and the brutal collective punishment happening in Gaza. It painted a West vs the Rest picture that frames this as a war between two world views, outside the context of settler colonialism and the long standing oppression of Palestinians. The civilians of Gaza, half of whom are children, are barely even mentioned until near the end of the episode. Yes, by all means outline in detail the horrors suffered by Israelis but do the same for the civilians on the other side of the wall where the “smell of dead bodies” is compounded by the lack of safe shelters, electricity, water, food or access to information (all of which where already limited by the Israeli occupation to a certain extents before Oct 7th). If you do not cover this, please be open with listeners about your political lens and bias.

The most obvious question that was Not Asked was “what are your views on hamas” that is where I find bias in this reportage.

Deep dive into Georgia is fascinating and Roland is a brilliant host. I believe the reaction in Central Asia could be determinative in the Ukraine war and the future direction of the European Union and wider Western Alliance. Thanks very much
