“I really enjoyed the Falklands series but I was sceptical about the team being able to do an equally good job about a contemporary war - after all they don’t call it the fog of war for nothing. I’m afraid my concerns were justified. By the time we got to a Russian “expert” who thinks Putin was behind Trump’s election and Brexit - two debunked and risible conspiracy theories - I think it is time to give it up. I would suggest the team returns to the drawing board. I would go for a series on the conflicts at the end of empire - Malaya, Kenya etc. This is an underreported period ripe for this type of treatment.”
