“Love this Beatle niche area that hadn’t been explored to my knowledge before.
Joe is a real Beatle bookworm and owns a vast library of the Beatle books and magazines.
The guests he has on the podcast are either the authors of, or sometimes people with a different angle on the book under discussion.
The questions put and the ensuing discussions are easy on the ear, entertaining and informative - exploring areas that I would probably want to go if I was the interviewer.
Joe is clearly keen and very knowledgeable on the subject and has clearly read and digested the relevant book before the interview in order to have such an insight into the content thus enhancing the discussion.
On quite a few occasions it has made me revisit my own (ever growing!) collection, such as the Hunter Davies Authorised Biography which I had originally bought in the months after the awful events of December 1980.
Re reading this after some 40 years was a very enjoyable experience, inspired by the podcast.
On quite a few other occasions listening to the podcast has cost me and my family a few quid … as the discussion has whetted my appetite to read the book in question!! I now have a small pile of new Beatle books awaiting my attention ….!!
Maybe you can’t buy me love, but you can buy me a new Beatles book 😂
