Description
Welcome back to the Beer O'Clock podcast, it's been a long, long time between drinks! I've had an incredibly hectic last couple of months, which has seen the podcast fall by the wayside a little. I've got to issue a small apology to Nick Becker from Konvoy, our interview subject this episode, for the tardiness in getting this up! If this is your first time listening to a Beer O'Clock Australia podcast, welcome! We change the segments up a little each month, however most months we'll discuss some of the latest news from the beer world, we'll talk about some beers that we've been enjoying over the last month & we'll crack something interesting from my cellar. This episode we cover, in true Beer O'Clock fashion, plenty of (very) outdated news, roll out the scouting report for Kaiju's (relatively) new brewery, interview Nick Becker from Konvoy Kegs, add a Mauritian lager to the Ranking of Lagers & drink something from the back of the cellar!   Show Notes Intro   News (1:00) Beers Brewed for Ukraine Natalia Morales (Inmorales Brewery) Go Fund Me (link) Excise Changes for Small Brewers CDS Changes AIBA Category Changes ABAC Complaints Drop Sharply Kent Grogan Steps Down From Broo Board (there's a further update that we'll discuss next episode) US Brewers Mostly Back Open Post-COVID Brewery Closures None to report Brewery Openings Hawkes Open the "Bob Hawke Beer & Leisure Centre" Currumbin Valley Working on Second Site Wildflower Install Brewery Grassy Knoll become Seeker, Takeover Bulli Site Tasting Paddle (15:00) Federal Government Invest $33M in Sunshine Coast Beverage Precinct CUB Bring Back Resch's Dinner Ale Young Henry's 10 Year Anniversary Capital Certified Carbon Neutral   Scouting Report (21:13) Kaiju Cantina 27 Hume Street, Huntingdale Good venue, but a little safe   Interview (25:57) Nick Becker Konvoy Kegs Co-Founder & Sales Director   Ranking of Lagers (48:37) This month we add Phoenix (Mauritius).
