“Mrs. Friesen was my grade 2 teacher and I still remember her as being one of the most inspiring people I have been blessed to encounter.
Mrs. Friesen taught me that I could do anything I set my mind to. This was something that my anxious 7 year-old self needed to be reminded of often, and she did just that. She truly made every student feel cared about and supported, regardless of their personal situation.
After being in Mrs. Friesen’s grade 2 class, I was inspired and knew I wanted to work with children in some capacity as well. I’m now 21 and pursuing a university degree that will allow me to do so. I will never forget the care that Mrs. Friesen showed each of her students. I can only hope that I will one day be able to impact a child’s life as much as she impacted my own.
