Adam Griggs - What Sets Irish Rugby's Pathway System Apart
Listen now
Description
Griggsy and I played together in Lansdowne fc, winning the All-Ireland League together in 2015. He is a Kiwi and went through the Tasman Makos Academy with current Leinster Rugby Backs coach Andrew Goodman. Griggsy moved to Ireland to play in the All-Ireland League. He tells a story about how he happened to be having a few wines with Joe Schmidt one night, which led to him getting called into the Leinster team out of nowhere. Currently Adam is coaching in the Leinster Rugby pathway system as Head Coach of the u19s, and works during the year with players involved in the Irish Rugby u20 side. He has coached at various levels from school boys to being Head Coach of the Irish Womens team for 4 years. We chat about coaching, his journey and lots of other stuff throughout the pod.
