Description
Before we dive into today's replay episode, I have some exciting updates to share. As we gear up for the summer season, I'll be taking a brief hiatus to refine our mission and enhance your listening experience.
While we take this short break, look forward to revisiting some of our most cherished conversations from the past. These timeless gems are filled with wisdom and insights that are as relevant today as ever.
Have you ever been told, "you are aggressive", or "next time think about not being so vocal", or maybe "why do you keep making such gross error" when your mistakes are no different from others?
More times than I can count, I and other Black and Brown women around me have experienced microaggressions in the form of feedback at work. Sometimes they're about the quality of our work or our body language or behavior.
One thing that's sure about microaggressions that come through as feedback in the workplace is that they are not always overt. In fact, they sometimes sound like a compliment. "So how do I know the difference and what should I do in such a situation?"
This is a burning experience that we as Black/Brown women need to know how to navigate in order to create and maintain a space of equal respect for ourselves at work so listen in as I share how to successfully manage such work place environments.
