“Why does this show even exist? If it’s meant to be informative, then treat it as such. There’s a bunch of ‘cool brah’ fishing podcasts out there already. We don’t need another. Don’t lessen the MeatEater brand with this sort of podcast. Simply deliver information to the listener that is helpful, enlightening, and well-researched. You can certainly be humorous but this podcast is “Bent” on a particular sort of lowbrow that is distracting, dull, and sophomoric. The MeatEater guys can do much better.”

“I wanted to like it. I really did. It’s just not my taste. Tons of satire and no actual fishing talk or information. The bits aren’t funny and the profanity and innuendo are off-putting. It’s basically 2010s SNL for outdoors podcasting. The Ben O’Brien “Lance” bit pushed it over the edge for me.”
