The ‘Woke’ Award goes to….
…this guy. The host. Who can’t ram his MEllennial viewpoints home hard enough. As an example - 1986 Best Actress award must go to the deaf (sorry, sorry, audio impaired!) actress who played a deaf character in a film about being deaf. I mean, acting is about playing yourself right? Terrific idea for a pod and I’ve listened to many episodes because I like the idea of discussing & challenging the Oscar award winners - who should’ve won, really. Consequently I have to tolerate the hosts woke credentials as he ensures we’re all aware of how awful yesteryear was, when we didn’t know what was appropriate & acceptable in movies of a different time. Bah! So, if you can manage to ‘accept’ the guy hosts wokey-wokiest attitude and know that he’ll always pick the actress based on modern millennial standards, then this cast is worth a listen (if for nothing else than to be reminded of some great movies from the past, worth revisiting again now…as they don’t make proper movies anymore).
