“They regular engage in the sports betting tropes that they decry. Then they catch themselves on it, make some joke, and do it all over again later in the episode. Also, when they judge coaching decisions and what the analytical choice would have been, they just start a five minute climb up a hypothetical tree (“But what about if instead 7 minutes left in the game, there was 6 minutes and 59 seconds left?”). It’s just stupid, meaningless commentary.
Rufus, who is supposed to be the super smart numbers guy on the pod, never answers a question straight. If asked about a line, he will most likely say, “I have to update my numbers,” or, “I haven’t done the game grades,” or “I’ll have to see closer to kickoff.” If you haven’t updated your numbers for the upcoming weekend, then why are you recording the podcast? They center the podcast around this guy’s numbers, but he always defaults to “I have to update my numbers.” Okay?
Also, whenever they reference action that they had the previous weekend (live bets, O/U)—you know, the stuff that they don’t provide picks for—it’s always just so happens that they won on that action. They do this particularly when they have a bad week of podcast picks. They are not transparent about the losses they experience on non-podcast picks, and when they do discuss losses on podcast picks, they generally mention how well they did on live betting and second half wagers.
Last thing: having bad audio isn’t funny. If the audio is subpar, you shouldn’t be recording an episode.”
