Just wanted to drop a note (after binging your podcast & many others in the build up to Polin season—you are such a wonderful listen overall, keep doing you and I’ll be psyched to hear it) to say your chat in episode 19 about ABC talking actually really comforted this Virgin Colin truther. I am still mourning the man, and dreading the day the show is done if we never get a single counter-example to the ‘male leads gotta know what they’re doing, lady leads have to be virginal or gain experience purely through a loving marriage’ formula, BUT you really brought home to me that Colin wanted to be accepted by his big bros as an adult, and they’ve really mixed up sex in that process, and with any luck we may find that it is a hollow victory for Colin when he doesn’t joy in the rakish life like Ben and previously Anthony. If they give us a Colin storyline this season where he doesn’t only prefer love with his sex partner, but actively sours on the rakish life when it doesn’t fulfill him ‘as it should’? I may just change my tune on the whole thing. Putting the whole locker room ‘you have to sleep around to be a man’ peer pressure on blast may just be worth it. But, we’ll see if the show is willing to go there with it.”
