Whether it's handling dangerous drugs or working with unhandled yearlings, as veterinary surgeons we take calculated risks daily. After becoming pregnant with her first child, Emily identified a need for clear and concise guidance for veterinarians navigating pregnancy and parenting in clinical practice. After researching the information for herself, she decided to write a book to help new mothers make evidence based decisions about their work practices. Her book is called "Pregnancy and Postpartum Considerations for the Veterinary Team", and she now offers 'Ultimate Parenting Road Map' workshops in addition to one-to-one mentoring on the subject. Council Member, Angela Jones, joins us to discuss how planning ahead where possible, and having access to the relevant information helps ease the stresses and strains of trying to manage work-life and family-life during those early days in the process.
