S1E6: Tragedy at Ruby Ridge
Listen now
Description
Today, Owen takes us deep into the Idaho mountains to Ruby Ridge where, in 1992, a standoff between the AFT, FBI, and Randy Weaver and his family ended in tragedy. The governments mishandling of the situation led to American citizens highly scrutinizing and condemning the governments' actions, sending waves of civil unrest across the country.  The family, the standoff, and the subsequent trial lives on today in the hearts and minds of Americans who watched the event unfold in real time, but awareness of this event has been steadily decreasing in the decades since. Thought provoking, anger inducing, and slightly terrifying, the events at Ruby Ridge deserve awareness at how miscommunication, mistrust in the goverment, and questionable, violent acts can lead to something tragic.
