When you were raised to be PURE - body disconnection, sexual trauma & compassion (w/ Guest Jenny McGrath-LMHC,SEP)
Description
There have been messages we grew up with that dont only NOT serve us, but truly HOLD US, not only back but in a confusing loop.
My guest Jenny McGrath (MA, LMHC, SEP) is a national researcher on Purity Culture looking at the subjective experience of white women and women of color and the intersections of colonialism, racism through sexism and sexual oppression. Its a heavy conversation but so so needed.
This is ultimately about reframing our connection to our own bodies, our stories of belonging and opening ground for greater levels of compassion for ourselves and for the collective.
In todayʻs episode we talk about the disconnection with our bodies, based in cultural and societal stories, and the invitation to value our own autonomy and past experiences to learn our own truths and give space for others to own theirs.

I hope this episode serves you, even if it isnʻt your lived experience. I am grateful for the opportunity to connect in an even deeper way.
