In tonight's SE episode we look at an incident that appears to have been altered in some texts of the Bible and delve into the reason why Sarah, the wife of Abraham may have wanted her husband to send his firstborn son and her mother into the desert to die. Sarah's murderous rage is one of those topics that most Preachers, Priests and Rabbis avoid like the plague, but will will look at the traditions and texts and confront the issue head on. Why does Sarah want to kill Ishmael? Was she a paranoid woman? Was she a violent irrational psychopath? Or was there a legitimate and justifiable reason for demanding that Hagar and Ishmael be banished into the desert to die?
