“I recently started listening to The Big Game Hunting Podcast because I was given a surprise 50th birthday present from my wife to hunt in South Africa. Since everything I knew about hunting South Africa was what I saw on the hunting channels, I needed to gather more information before my safari. I am not a podcast guy, but thought I’d give it a try. I found this podcast, and saw all the episode topics about hunting Africa. The discussions on hunting in Africa, especially those with Dr. Kevin Robertson, have been invaluable in my preparation for the hunt. I even ordered “The Perfect Shot II” based on John’s recommendation as it being a ‘must have’ for any African game hunt… and very glad I did. Also, the episodes on expectations when hunting Africa were ABSOLUTELY what I wanted to know!
I emailed John a number of questions about hunting in Africa and he has been an encyclopedia (Wikipedia page for you new gen hunters reading this post) of knowledge for me. He has answered many questions and has offered to answer any others that I may have if the future. THIS WAS THE HELP I WAS LOOKING FOR!!! John makes me feel like I can ask any question…no matter what.
Although I started listening to this podcast only a month ago, specifically for African hunting, I am hooked on it. I will be listening to other episodes as I am an avid hunter here in Alberta, and interested to hear what is said, especially relating to elk and moose hunting. I am also really enjoying the caliber comparison episodes. Great info when buying my next rifle and my next rifle, and… well you know there is no such thing as a “final rifle”. Lol.
As I said before, I’m not a podcast guy, in fact this is the FIRST one I’ve ever tuned in to, but I definitely will be a listener of The Big Game Hunting Podcast going forward.
