Going on personal experience, very young kids have no difficulty absorbing up to 3 languages before they go to school. It is just important that they speak a certain language with a given person, or use a particular language in a certain place/environment. e.g. Gaeilge leis an Athair, SI with mother & EN in a crèche/kindergarten or with say, grand-parents.
