If you love the game of baseball, if you grew up as a kid playing baseball, then these are stories you probably never heard. We celebrated the players, many of whom you will recognize, and more that you will never forget after hearing them. Forever grateful to Mr. BOB KENDRICK and the Negro League Baseball Hall of Fame for keeping the history alive and perhaps, you’ll find this history to be more pertinent in today’s tumultuous times. As a reminder of persistence of vision and perseverance of character, during the time of the league at its zenith, we may find hope for the future — and surely be entertained by the stories and conversation found here on Black Diamonds. I am an old guy born in Denton, Texas that was dragged across the US by his university professor dad. I loved baseball and love the way it was played before the long ball era.
