Diamond in the rough
I am so thankful to have run across this podcast. Bob Kendrick is an incredible story teller and his compassion and love for this game is so evident in every episode. There is so much information packed into every episode that I can’t remember it all. Learning about Ernie Banks playing with the Globetrotters and Satchel Paige telling a young Willie Mays that three fastballs are coming (and he didn’t touch any of them) are details worth so much more than home runs and RBIs. Thank you Bob Kendrick for bringing your heart and soul to this podcast and for continuing to bring the “Gospel” of the Negro Leagues to al of us. I look forward to each and every episode.

More reviews of Black Diamonds
.... is that it didn’t start sooner. Excellent stories, conversation and insight into a topic that caught my interest a long time ago, but I didn’t know where to go to find out more. I don’t listen to a lot of podcasts anymore, but I don’t miss an episode of Black Diamonds.

This podcast is outstanding. Bob’s knowledge of the history of not only the Negro Leagues but the American culture at that time is amazing. Great interviews and insight. A must listen for any baseball fan and any fan of civil rights history. Keep up the good work!

I just love these podcasts. Just hearing the stories from Bill White had me laughing so hard. I grew up with Mr. White watching him on WPIX Ch.11 in New York. What a history lesson in every episode. 10 Stars!!
