Starting off slow and rocky
I’m seven episodes in and I’m really struggling to continue. It has promise and I like the premise, but it’s just a slog to get through. There’s just too much recapping previous events and going over the same thing again and again. By episode three we’d heard each characters backstory multiple times already and then a brand new character comes in that has to hear about every character’s backstory all over again! The players seem to want to right every wrong they come across, and that’s just not going to happen in Ravenloft. It’s a place of uncomfortable alliances, and the players don’t seem to get that they’re going to have to work with people whose methods they don’t agree with. Like, how many different NPCs had to tell the party multiple times each that the lycanthrope soldiers volunteered to become lycanthropes before the party understands that? Even after insight checks showed the first person to tell them that was telling the truth they kept going on and on about it and it’s keeping the party from progressing.

I was hooked in the first episode and have been binging the series to catch up. I joined the Patreon a few episodes in so I could hear the side adventures and learn even more about these awesome and complex characters. So well done and the twists and turns are payoff so well!

I love absolutely everything about this podcast—B. Dave is a sensational DM, and the cast have created a wonderful party to venture through the mists with. Great for the experienced player and new ones alike. Can’t wait to see what happens next.
