I think something that has been missing in the coverage this past week is how much or little autonomy a teenage Russian figure skater likely has. Your description of the differences in training/coaching systems in the US vs. Russia was very informative and touched on this. I also found helpful your outline of a child’s development while training difficult jumps and how the medicines involved might affect such training.
