Reasonable, calculated, entertaining discussions.
I’ll be honest- had it not been for this podcast covering wonderlands war, a game i was desperately trying to calculate how bad I wanted given all the hype, I probably wouldn’t have given this podcast a listen. When I think of hot takes I think of people trying to do the Steven a smith thing just in my new board game hobby. For non sports fans, I thought this would be a podcast of irrational takes, eccentric and overly hyperbolic takes just for the sake of saying something controversial. Despite my fears, after listening to the Wonderlands War episode I was immediately drawn in to how these hosts break games down, how they analyze and evaluate them, and even how they interact with each other. I have returned for episode after episode (it helps that we apparently have very similar tastes as I was very curious to learn more about games like GWT, El Grande, and Root) and I plan on continuing to come back. The discussions are engaging and about topics I find interesting to talk about in the greater scope of the hobby. I have recommended this to my friends and if you are considering listening I recommend it to you. Find an episode with a game you’re interested in to start or one you have a strong opinion about and see how your thoughts compare and I am sure you will come back. One question though- is there a way to interact for the non Twitter non Instagram users with y’all for responding to questions etc?

More reviews of Board Game Hot Takes
And I do not even play board games! They really make the games come alive even for someone who does not play. And those sultry, deep voices of theirs… Ooohh!
