I’m so glad Bone and Sickle is a thing!
I only started listening to podcasts last year, and I’m honestly so glad Bone and Sickle was created around that same time. I’ve had a life-long love for folklore and horror, and while folk horror is a genre that exists and is liked by a lot of people, it is still very niche and it can be hard to satiate my folk horror fix. That’s why I’m so glad Bone and Sickle is a thing, and it’s one of my favorite sources for all things dark and folklorey. I highly recommend it to anyone who enjoys those things too!

The stories are good… when you actually get to them. But first you must sit through endless minutes of what the creators must believe is “atmosphere” (45 seconds of clock ticking? And stair creaking? Really? Get on with it.)

I started on episode 3 on the advice of a friend and was immediately entranced! Horror, folklore, humor- I immediately listened to the other episodes and subscribed.

This has a great mix of dry wit with a considerable amount of real scholarship. Each episode will cover both traditional folklore, literature and modern media related to the current topic. Definitely worth a listen
