Detailed and Nuanced
Penny Sansevieri and Amy Cornell provide very in-depth commentary about what it means to be a successful author in today’s day and age. I will admit that I have only listened to the first episode at the time of writing this review, but even that short 30 minutes is full of intricate tips such as dos and do nots for publishing on Amazon and what it means to target a specific market or audience. However, I do have to admit that listening to the first episode has severally demoralized me as a prospective first-time author. I am still on the fence about how seriously I want to take the publishing and marketing process for my first book. Penny and Amy are incredibly enthusiastic about their subject matter, but I have always deeply disliked advertising and marketing in general. Listening to this podcast has just further reinforced my feeling that I will probably have to outsource most of my marketing if I ever am going to seriously attempt to get my book into the public’s eye. It pains me to say it, but I may not possess the proper aptitude to be successful. Regardless, I appreciate the pair’s willingness to shatter any and all illusions I may have held about what it means to be a successful author. If you are serious about selling many copies of your book and getting your name out there I would highly recommend you listen to these two!

I like how they are brutally honest about truth of publishing. Still waiting for that Tshirt: ‘Amy feels strongly about this topic.’

Wow! These podcasts are so helpful, concise, focused and fun! I have learned so much from them. I’ve written a much better elevator pitch/log line after hearing that episode. Other episodes have helped me to know what’s important before I launch my novel, and so much more! These really are about...Read full review »
