Feels Like A Blast To The Past
In the years of 2012, 2013, and so on... There was some very special corners of the YouTube-verse. One of them being a community of people talking about books, known as BookTube. I was in high school and a big book reader myself (but a slow one), I discovered videos of people talking about books, hauling books, hearing them say what they were excited to read and what they couldn’t stand. I had a ton of favorite BookTubers back then, but one of my favorite sub-groups within the group was Ariel and Raeleen’s. I was lucky to participate in their world via comments and likes at the height of BookTube’s popularity. While it is still possible, the community is just not the same. The people have changed (people I don’t know, have never seen before) and I have changed (taste growing, changing, where BookTube has always been stuck in YA Literature). When I first started listening to this podcast, I did not know what the format was going to be like nor how their friendship now was (or even if they had one at all)... I keep up with Ariel’s videos sometimes, but I knew PadfootandProngs07 had retired. However, I’m so happy and lucky to be listening to this podcast. It is a true blast from the past. Raeleen and Ariel have captured the way it felt back then, online, talking about books in my formative years. I absolutely love it. From “mashed potatoe books” to Ariel’s ways of making the podcast longer when she know she hasn’t been reading, this podcast is an absolute treat. Five stars! Awesome!
