Country Rap Tunes
Great show, but a few notes: It can’t be possible to discuss the country/southern dynamic without a single mention of Pimp C, the creator of the whole Country Rap Tunes movement/sub genre, (would like to know how y’all think UGK’s “Wood Wheel” video fits into the picture) nor Willie D, who Pimp and others cite as the first rapper to get on a record talkin country at all... Also, Devin the Dude deserves a lot more attention and respect in the discussion on weed and hip hop.. The Geto Boys/J.Prince/Rap-A-Lot (+ Tony Draper/Suave House) deserve more consideration in general, but especially when you speak on how the scene down here was built..
