Love the pod and magazine - but boxing has some big problems

“Hi Matt and Alex,
I’m a regular listener of the pod and Boxing News subscriber. I absolutely devour the content each week and look forward the podcast and magazine.
I was shocked and angered by Leonard Ellerbe’s recent remarks about Gervonta Davis’ career trajectory. He basically said he’ll only be looking to match Davis with PBC fighters and fights that make everyone involved the most amount of money.
This gives a damming insight into the attitude among big boxing promoters and hype men like Ellerbe, who time and time again, do the fans a disservice.
How can casual fans mor young kids fall in love with the sport when there’s such reluctance to match the best with the best? The sad part is, Tank Davis looks a super talent, but it’s becoming abundantly clear we won’t see him in with the top dogs at 135lbs anytime soon.
It’s no wonder so many young kids are switching over to UFC where the best regularly fight the best.
Shame on Leonard Ellerbe, shame on boxing and shame on us for putting up with it!
