“Big fan of the pod and happy to have it back. Especially enjoyed the episode where Matt and Alex asked Eddie Hearn some tough questions re PPV. Always been a big fan of Eddie and Matchroom shows, but I thought his comments around Loma v Lopez and the PPV’s to come this year really missed the point. Eddie claims to be a boxing fan so can surely understand our frustration at no broadcaster picking the number 1 v number 2 fighters at lightweight, because he didn’t think it would make money. Re PPV, fans already pay substantial subscriptions for Sky and BT on top of their TV licenses. I get that big fights need the PPV money to be made and that’s fine. But I agree with Alex, Eddie is setting a dangerous precedent by considering pretty much any worthwhile fight a PPV worthy fight. I just hope that the fans see through the hype surrounding certain fights and refuse to pay more.
One thing that concerns me about the pod is that a lot of the stuff is also featured in the magazine which I subscribe to. I just hope the fantastic interviews you manage to get on the pod don’t dilute the content of the worlds greatest fight magazine. Keep up the good work gents.”
