Concise and clear episode on night waking
The episode on night waking was like a finely tuned research paper written by experts that thoroughly know their field. The way you broke down the different possible reasons for waking was very clear and concise. It is so helpful to hear that clarity in the haze of sleep deprived parenting. My 15 month old began sleeping through the night at 12 months for around a month then has started waking again 3 to 5 times most nights crying to be picked up and held to sleep even though he starts the night peacefully falling asleep on his own in his cot. I’m re-checking his sleep needs over the next 2 weeks to see if they have dropped again and will try to help him self settle on the night wakes to remove that sleep association. That old chestnut. I know he can do it as he does it for his one hour pram nap and at bedtime. It’s just more challenging for him when sleep pressure drops I think. He’s a fomo toddler with around 11 hours a day of sleep need. I’ve listened to every podcast and wait eagerly each Monday afternoon. Your advice is so helpful. If I can’t get him self settling for night wakes within 2 weeks I’ll join Sombelle. Thanks for the clarity and the confidence! Fio
