Like having teaching BFFs with me on my walks
So, at the start of the pandemic, I began going on weekly walks with a teacher friend. As we were all sheltering-in-place, it was a delight to get out and talk with a fellow English educator in a socially distant manner. We talk ALL things English education and life. We do laps of our neighborhood and work out all our issues and celebrate our triumphs. As gyms were closed, I continued to walk to get exercise in, but it was lonely without Heather - my walking teacher friend. Enter Brave New Teaching. I gained two new teacher BFFs to walk and “talk” with once a week. I love the practical strategies they offer on so many topics. I love their banter back and forth and sometimes I join in….but the other walkers stay very far away from me when this happens. I will blame COVID not me talking out loud to no one. Thank you for everything you do! You give me encouragement, ideas and validation every time I listen! ~Dawn ThinkELA
