Shame on our legal system.
Great expose’ on what can happen to those who don’t have the resources to get fair treatment. The conduct of some of the lawyers is pitiful. Nice job AJC in shedding light on this. I’m surprised by some of the negative reviews however. Most notably the one complaining about “too much filler” and the perceived glee the narrator took in using the term “red-headed crack whore”. I couldn’t disagree more. The story was told well and the derogatory term was used only a few times and only when referring to the cause of the confrontation that led to the unfortunate death of an innocent victim. These are professional journalists folks! I’m sure the text was carefully considered and edited before being recorded. And to those comparing it negatively to Serial, it was made clear in the beginning that it was modeled in the style of Serial and it stands on its own merits. Nice work AJC. Looking forward to the next project.

It's interesting enough if you can get past the how the host sounds like he is reading a children's book rather than a true crime story... Also, the host forces awful jokes into serious subjects.Read full review »
