Description
In this episode of the Breakout with Newt Gingrich podcast, Newt interviews Pat Nolan,
an expert and key conservative voice on prison reform. In recent years, members of the
conservative movement, particularly Republican governors, have begun to pay close
attention to the dire situation within our nation’s prison system and have enacted reforms
to lower the costs associated with running these prisons and ensure that offenders do not
return to prison once released. Initiatives such as Right on Crime have also been leading the
charge for conservative criminal justice reform by focusing on “reducing crime, lowering costs
and restoring victims.” These initiatives, coupled with legislative action, will be the key to
reforming our broken prison system.
