Description
In this episode of the Breakout with Newt Gingrich podcast, Newt welcomes Congresswoman Marsha Blackburn of Tennessee and Congressman Michael Burgess of Texas to discuss a new generation of health-related smartphone apps which the FDA is attempting to regulate as medical devices. Congresswoman Blackburn has introduced the SOFTWARE Act in the House of Representatives to prevent the FDA from restricting low-risk medical apps. Congressman Burgess, a medical doctor, joins in to discuss his suite of health accessories for his smartphone and to offer insight on how similar technology might improve our lives and lower the cost of care in the near future, if the FDA does not succeed in blocking it.
